The island of Tinos is at the heart of the Aegean Sea and offers unique thrills for the discerning traveler who seeks to discover. The “hand made” island with the stone terraces crafted over many centuries, the whitewashed villages with the characteristic Cycladic architecture and the narrowcobbled passages. Innumerable chapels scattered all over, blooming gardens and fountains, beaches with crystal clear waters and the dovecotes “peristeriones” that eventually give Tinos its distinctive character.
There are more than one thousand dovecotes on the island. Each one is a unique example of folk art and architecture. Like so many others, we were drawn by the beauty of these fascinating structures and drew inspiration for our name, logo and mission.
